How it works
Storing a file takes about a minute. Here is each step, and what is happening underneath.
Images, audio, video, documents, archives — any file type. The upload app shows the current size limit before you start.
Connect a Solana wallet (Phantom, Solflare) so files are tied to your address. Or upload anonymously: you get a secret phrase, and that phrase is the only way to find your files again — we cannot recover it.
Upload is in open beta. Choose Devnet to try it with test SOL — nothing real is spent and test files are not permanent. Choose Mainnet to store a file for real. Mainnet uploads cannot be undone.
The price depends on file size and is shown before you pay. You pay once, in SOL. There is no subscription and nothing to renew.
The file goes to our IPFS node first so it is available right away, then to Arweave for permanent storage. Once Arweave confirms, the IPFS copy is released. Your link at my.bitty.cat keeps working throughout, and the file is also reachable through public Arweave gateways.
Optional — encrypt it
Hold a Bitty Kitty NFT and you can encrypt a file in your browser before it leaves your device. You receive a recovery key; without it the file cannot be decrypted — by you or by us. Read more about security →
Then — manage and share
Open my.bitty.cat to see every file, preview it, and create share links with an expiry and a view limit that you can revoke.
